Yingtan High-tech Industrial Development Zone

The Yingtan High-tech Industrial Development Zone comprises of the Bailu Scientific and Technological Park and the Longgang Industrial Park. It has a population of 50,000 and 20,000 company employees. It is home to more than 500 companies.

The zone grew out of the Yingtan City Industrial Park that was founded in June 2001 and it was upgraded to a national high-tech industrial development park in August 2012 as approved by the State Council.

The zone focuses on developing emerging sectors and improves traditional industries. It promotes development of mobile internet of things (intelligent manufacturing), copper-based new materials and sectors related to health.

The zone’s main industrial business income was 40.4 billion yuan ($5.97 billion) in 2017 and the income was 22.3 billion yuan in the first half of 2018.

As for the mobile internet of things, the zone has built a related industrial park and set up the internet of things research center of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology.

The zone has continued to improve its copper industry and wants to cooperate with institutes such as Zhejiang University and General Research Institute for Nonferrous Metals. The zone also supports copper processing enterprises to reform technology, upgrades products and promotes the industrial chain to extend to the electronic information and electric power fields.

The zone is also a new destination for innovative companies and startups. It has 1,935 patents and 45 high-tech businesses.
