The Long March goes on: 90 years of courage and resolve

The year 2026 marks the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army's Long March.

From 1934 to 1936, the Red Army crossed treacherous rivers, scaled snow-capped mountains and broke through enemy blockades during a grueling strategic shift. Against overwhelming odds, its soldiers pressed forward with unwavering determination, ultimately achieving victory.

To commemorate the anniversary, China's Ministry of National Defense has released a themed video titled The Long March Goes On on social media platforms including its X account (@MND_China). Set to a Chinese-style hip-hop track, the video brings the history and enduring spirit of the Long March to life through powerful beats and lyrics.

Nine decades later, the Long March's legacy lives on in a new generation of the Chinese military, whose members carry forward the same spirit as they take on new missions and challenges.

Every generation has its own mountains to climb and obstacles to overcome. The terrain may change, but the resolve to move forward remains.
